Jessica B. Chalmers
I am a graduate of IU McKinney School of Law. I hold a B.S. from IUPUI in Criminal Justice and continued my education, earning my M.S. in Public Safety and Criminal Justice, with a focus in Emergency Management. I worked for several years in the multi-family housing industry including subsidized housing for the elderly and disabled. My passion for guiding residents through complicated processes and being a resource for them ultimately led me to law school.
As a law student, I devoted my time to the Second Chance Re-Entry Assistance Program as well as Women’s Caucus, serving on both executive boards for two of my three years there. My interest in advocacy and Elder Law grew while volunteering with the Center for At-Risk Elders and as a mentor advocate and teaching assistant for the Re-Entry and Community Help Program.
I joined the Holwager & Holwager, P.C. team in March of 2021 as a law clerk, moving into an attorney role in October of 2021. I am a member of the Elder Law Section of the Indiana State Bar, the Indianapolis Bar Association, and the National Association for Elder Law Attorneys.
When not at the office, I enjoy playing with my two dogs, Cooper and Rory, spending time with my family and friends, being outdoors, and volunteering in the community.
